85-hundred jobs were added in Louisiana in August according to figures released by the state workforce commission. Baton Rouge gained 43-hundred jobs, New Orleans added 17–hundred jobs, but Shreveport-Bossier City and Alexandria lost 600 jobs from July to August.
Ag and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain says Laura McLaughlin of Pitkin was arrested for setting the Highway 113 wildfire which started in Rapides and spread into Vernon Parish

McLaughlin faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted on these charges.
Constitutional Amendment One on the October 14th ballot asks voters if the state should be allowed to accept donations from outside groups or donors to help pay for election costs.
