A Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s deputy was killed early Sunday morning during a police chase that started in Houma when an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle on a traffic violation. The chase ended when the suspect rammed his vehicle into a deputy’s vehicle, killing 44-year-old Detective Sergeant Nicholas Pepper. The suspect is in custody.
