There is now a declared Democrat in the race to be Louisiana’s next governor. He is Danny Cole, a professional educator and self-described “Christian Conservative with Democratic values.” Cole, a teacher at Bolton High in Alexandria, feels Louisiana does not invest enough in education…:

The special session ended with lawmakers approving an incentive fund aimed at bringing in more property insurers. Supporters say it will help lower rates. Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon says in the regular session he’ll urge legislators to support a grant program for homeowners who want to fortify their roofs against hurricane force winds…

“Jazz Fest. A New Orleans Story,” won for Best Music Film at last night’s Grammy Awards. Lake Charles zydeco artist Sean Ardoin who collaborated with the Golden Band from Tigerland did not win for their album “Full Circle.” It was up for best regional roots album. Ranky Tanky’s Live at the 2022 Jazz Fest” won the Grammy for that category.
