In a poll paid for by Kennedy, it shows he leads a large field of candidates receiving 21-percent of the vote, Attorney General Jeff Landry was the nearest Republican at 13-percent.

An inmate survives after jumping from the third story of a parking deck during an escape attempt. Brooke Thorington has more from the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office.

An investigation is underway into the death of Carlos Thomas, the father of former LSU star and current Buccaneers linebacker Devin White. Thomas was in custody of the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office as an inmate awaiting trial on federal charges when he lost consciousness on his way to the hospital after complaining of severe back pain. He died a short time later.
