State and local officials in southwest Louisiana have broken ground on a 152-million dollar project to widen Interstate 10 from the Texas State line to I-210. Officials say over one-point-six million tons of freight are carried along the corridor each year. State Transportation Secretary Shawn Wilson says this project will strengthen a section of a vital national corridor for the freight industry.
