It’s been a long winding road to the world cup final but we’re almost to the end after more than a month of soccer watched by billions of fans worldwide.
The tournament started with a shock, as last cup’s champion’s Germany failed to make it out of the group stages. Then the round of 16 saw huge upsets, with Russia toppling Spain, and Uruguay beating out Portugal. By the time the quarter finals rolled around the two best plyers on earth, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were nowhere to be seen.
The quarters saw tournament favorites Brazil bested by Belgium, and in the semifinals England’s dream run came to an end against underdog of the tournament Croatia, who’s making their first ever World Cup Final, where they’ll face France whose stifling defense led to a Belgian waffle.
Croatia will take on France for the finals at 10AM on Sunday.
