Before yesterday’s game, LSU center fielder Dylan Crews was awarded the 2023 Golden Spikes Award. He’s the second player from LSU to win the most prestigious award in college baseball. Crews hit .418 with 18 home runs and his on-base percentage is the second highest in the country. He beat LSU pitcher Paul Skenes and Florida two-way player Jac Caglianone for the award.
Catholic High of Baton Rouge Quarterback Daniel Beale has committed to U-L Lafayette. Beale has been starting since his freshman season and last year as a junior, he threw for 26-hundred yards for 38 touchdowns. He’s six-foot-two, 190 pounds and is ranked as a three-star prospect by 247 sports.
LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels was a camp counselor at the Manning Passing Academy in Thiboduax this past week. Daniels says he’s added 12 pounds to his frame, but has not lost any speed. He also feels way more comfortable heading into his second season in Tiger Town. The Tigers first game is September third against Florida State.
