The LSU football team is back home after a 38-27 disappointing season-opening loss to UCLA. The Bruins are not known as a physical football team, but they won the battle in the trenches as UCLA rushed for 210 yards, while LSU rushed for just 49 yards. LSU and Vanderbilt were the only two SEC teams who did not win this past weekend and Ole Miss plays tonight against Louisville.

Game week has arrived for the Saints as they will get ready the Packers at their temporary practices facilities in Fort Worth, Texas on T-C-U’s campus. Green Bay is a 4.5 point favorite.

It was a rough weekend for Louisiana college football teams. Only Southeastern Louisiana and Grambling pulled out victories. The Lions defeated North Alabama 49-28 as S-L-U outscored North Alabama 35 to 14 in the second half. And yesterday, after a winless spring, Grambling topped Tennessee State 16-10 in Canton, Ohio.

Louisiana Tech blew a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter and lost to Mississippi State 35-34 on Saturday. La Tech forced four turnovers, Trey Baldwin had a pick-six and quarterback Austin Kendall played well in his Bulldog debut, but they couldn’t finish. Coach Skip Holtz…
