Week four of the college football season begins tonight as Tulane hosts Houston for its American Athletic Conference opener. The game will air live on ESPN starting at 7 PM. The Green Wave are searching for their fifth straight win at home.
Saints QB Drew Brees said on social media that surgery on his injured thumb was a success, but an official timetable on when he’s expected back has not been given. Reports indicate the injury could take six weeks to fully heal. Coach Sean Payton says there are no plans to put Drew on injured reserve.

Payton is not naming a starter for Sunday’s game at Seattle, he says the plan is to play both Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill. The team has also promoted Lil-Jordan Humphrey from the practice squad to the active roster.
In other NFL news…Carolina Panthers Cam Newton missed practice yesterday with his bothersome foot injury. Kyle Allen could get the start against Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday.
Tonight’s NFL matchup is Tennessee at Jacksonville. Leonard Fournette has rushed for 103 yards through two games this season for the Jags.
