Successful start to the season for the LSU basketball team, who dominated Southeastern Louisiana 94-63 last night. Six Tigers scored in double figures. Freshman forward Emmitt Williams recorded his first double-double, 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Louisiana Tech pulled off a shocking win last night as the Bulldogs defeated Wichita State 71-58 in front of 10-thousand fans last night at the Charles Koch Arena. The Shockers had won 72 of their last 75 home games. Tech dominated the glass and junior DaQuan Bracey had a game-high 16 points.

The Ragin Cajuns shot 67-percent from the field as UL-Lafayette beat the University of Virgina Islands 121-80. ULM beat Jackson State 75-66 as Daishon Smith had 24 points and was 5-of-6 from three point territory.

Nicholls, UNO and Northwestern State were also winners.

The NFL Network is reporting the Saints and former Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant are working on a deal that would bring the ex All-Pro pass catcher to New Orleans. Bryant worked out for the Saints yesterday, but left town without a contract, but the interest reportedly remains high betwen Bryant and the Saints.

Former LSU head coach Les Miles may return to coaching. There are reports that Kansas has Miles at the top of their list to become the next head coach of the Jayhawks.

Despite the shutout loss to Alabama, LSU is seventh in the College Football playoff rankings. The Tigers are at Arkansas this Saturday and temperatures are expected to be around 40-degrees. Quarterback and Ohio native Joe Burrow is ready for the cold, but doesn’t have advice for his teammates….
