LSU baseball enters the SEC Tournament as a 5-seed and they’ll play South Carolina in the late game in Hoover, Alabama on Tuesday night. The Tigers lost on Saturday in extra innings to Auburn, which ended a four-game winning streak. Zack Hess blew the save in the ninth and gave up the go-ahead run in the 11th inning and says Saturday’s loss shouldn’t disrupt the momentum they have entering the postseason…

The Southern Jaguars punched their ticket into the NCAA Tournament with a 15-0 win over Alabama State in the SWAC Championship game in New Orleans yesterday. Eli Finney threw 8.1 innings of shutout baseball and third baseman Tyler LaPorte was named the tournament’s MVP after driving in five runs on Sunday. Southern will find out next Monday, which Regional they’ll play in.

Louisiana Tech is a three seed in the NCAA tournament and the Bulldogs will play Marshall on Wednesday morning in Biloxi, Mississippi. Tech took two of three from the Thundering Herd in the regular season.

ULM and UL-Lafayette are both in the Sun Belt Tournament, but they’ll play in Tuesday opening round which will be single elimination. The Warhawks will take on South Alabama and the Cajuns will face Appalachian State.

Southeastern Louisiana is the three seed in the Southland Tourney. The Lions will play Stephen F Austin on Wednesday morning. The Demons will take on Central Arkansas and McNeese faces Incarnate Word in the late game on Wednesday.

Tulane is the three seed in the American Athletic Conference and the Green Wave will take on Central Florida.

LSU softball advances to the Super Regional with a 5-1 win over Texas Tech, while the Cajuns lost twice to Ole Miss and were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament.

The Pelicans have hired Trajan Langdon as its general manager. While LSU’s Javonte Smart has announced he’s returning for his sophomore season.
