The 13th ranked LSU basketball team didn’t bring it last night and the Bayou Bengals lost to Florida 82-77 in overtime. Tigers Coach Will Wade says the Gators slower style of play hurt them…

Skylar Mays had 18 points to lead LSU. The Tigers are usually a good free throw shooting team, but they were not last night as they were 16 of 25 from the charity striple.

In college baseball, Louisiana Tech improved to 4-0 with a 3-2 win over the Ragin Cajuns in 10 innings. Senior Mason Robinson drove in the winning run with a two-out single. The Cajuns fall to 1-and-3 on the season. Tulane clobbered Lamar 22-10 as junior infielder Kody Hoese tied a school record with three home runs in one game.

Nicholls took the top team in the Southland to overtime but Sam Houston State ended up winning 84-74 in Huntsville, Texas. Gavin Peppers had 21 points in a losing effort. McNeese snapped a five-game losing streak with an 83-75 overtime win over Central Arkansas. Southeastern Louisiana’s five-game winning streak was snapped as the Lions lsot the Privateers 89-68. The Privateers shot 60-percent from the field and hit 14 three-pointers. And Houston Baptist defeated Northwestern State 92-54.

In football news…LSU defensive tackle Dominic Livingston says in a social media post that family issues are why he’s entered the NCAA Transfer portal. The Houston native played in just one game as a true freshman last season.

The Saints name Phil Galiano as an assistant special teams coach. He was the special teams coordinator at Penn State last season and also served as an assistant special teams coach for Tampa Bay in 2012 and 13.
