Two quarterbacks who like to run the football will face off Sunday when the Saints visit the Eagles. Taysom Hill will make his fourth straight start at quarterback for New Orleans, while rookie Jalen Hurts will make his first NFL start for Philadelphia. Hill has rushed for 178 yards in his four starts and he’s impressed with what Hurts did in college…

LSU leaves today for Gainesville where they’ll play the Florida Gators tomorrow night. Coach Ed Orgeron says they are leaning towards Max Johnson as their starting quarterback…

The SEC and Disney have announced a new ten-year TV deal, which means starting in 2024 ABC will replace CBS as the home of SEC’s featured 2:30 afternoon game. ABC also plans to show about a half dozen prime-time SEC football games. The new contract will also allow for ESPN to announce most game times farther in advance.

The Sugar Bowl which will be a national semi-final game on January 1st will be limited to three-thousand fans. The Saints will also have three-thousand fans at their next home game on December 20th versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The plan was for 15-thousand fans in the Dome, but that is no longer the case because of an increase in coronavirus cases. The Pelicans say they will have 800 fans at their home games.

There was quarterfinal high school playoff action last night…in Class Four-A, Neville advanced to the semi-finals with a 27 nothing win over Minden. That’s the second shutout in the playoffs for the Tigers. and in Two-A, Mangham knocked off Port Allen 35-19. Mangham quarterback Kaleb Pleasant accounted for four touchdowns.
