The Saints will host the Jacksonville Jaguars tonight in preseason game number two for the Black and Gold. The Saints will debut a new kicker, Aldrick Rosas, who will fill in for the injured Will Lutz. Rosas is a former pro bowl kicker for the New York Giants. In 2018, he made 32 of his 33 field goals. But struggled in 2019 and appeared in just six games for the Jaguars last season.

At the Little League World Series, the Lafayette Little League faces an elimination game today at 4 PM as they will face Ohio’s West Side All-Stars. Louisiana is 1-and -1 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, they were no-hit in its first game by South Dakota but rebounded to beat Pennsylvania.

LSU backup quarterback Garrett Nussmeier threw for 303 yards and three touchdowns in the second scrimmage of preseason camp. Starter Max Johnson was 11 of 17 for 125 yards and one touchdown. Coach Ed Orgeron says Nussmeier made some nice plays…

Josh Williams led all running backs with 66 yards and a touchdown. Orgeron says Ty Davis-Price and John Emery did not scrimmage because of nagging injuries. Devonta Lee had five catches for 85, including a beautiful grab along the sidelines with a defender draped all over him. Safety Jay Ward had eight tackles, Maason Smith three sacks and Zavier Carter two interceptions.
