Eagles linebacker Zack Baun is back in the Superdome after spending his first four seasons in the NFL with the Saints.

Baun was a reserve linebacker for New Orleans and played on special teams, but he’s blossomed into one of the best linebackers in the NFL in Philadelphia. Baun is an NFL Defensive Player of the Year finalist.

The LHSAA and the Saints are working towards sanctioning girls flag football as a high school sport. Louisiana High School Coaches Association Director Eric Held says the interest is there…

Cut 10 (10) “…flag football team.”

At least 80 schools needed to express interest per LHSAA bylaws in order for a formal vote to take place to finalize the approval of girls flag football as a sanctioned sport. Held says the association’s executive committee is expected to finalize approval at its April meeting.

In college basketball last night…McNeese rebounded from its first conference loss on Saturday by beating UIW 67 to 65. Nicholls stayed hot with a 75 to 67 win over Houston Christian. Northwestern State and Southeastern Louisiana both won. Southern improved to 9-and-0 in the SWAC with a 91 to 89 overtime win over Jackson State. Grambling lost to Alcorn State 60 to 53 to fall.
