Louisiana Tech had an excellent opportunity to improve to 2-and-1 in Conference USA, but the Bulldogs lost in overtime to New Mexico State 33 to 30 last night. Tech had a game-winning 27-yard field goal blocked in the final seconds of regulation. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for New Mexico state.

Former LSU defensive back Greg Brooks Junior is unable to talk or walk according to his attorneys and now he’s suiting, LSU and Our Lady of the Lake and the physician who performed surgery to remove a tumor from his brain. Ragin Cajuns men’s basketball will be without one of its best players for the season  six-foot-eight Hosana Kitenge for the year.

The Pelicans lost in preseason action last night, falling to the Houston Rockets 118 to 98. Jordan Hawkins led New Orleans with 20 points.
