Brees will not have his top deep threat for at least the next two months. The Saints have placed receiver Ted Ginn Junior on injured reserve as he’s been battling a bad knee. Also, starting guards Andrus Peat and Larry Warford were not at practice yesterday and it’s unknown if they will play Sunday.

The Pelicans home opener is tonight as the Birds on the Bayou will host the Sacramento Kings. It will be a special game for Gretna native and former Ragin Cajun Elfrid Payton who will play his first game in the Smoothie King Center in a Pelicans uniform.

5th ranked LSU hosts 22nd ranked Mississippi State tomorrow night, but could the Tigers be ripe for a let down performance after the huge victory last week against Georgia. Tigers running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire says no because they still have a lot to prove….

LSU will wear special uniforms tomorrow night that will commemorate the “Silent Season” of 2018. The Tigers did not play football that year because of World War One. The jersey and pants will be white, the numbers are purple and no name on the back to honor the unknown members of the LSU community who died in World War One. Also, the helmets will change colors from purple to gold under the stadium lights.
