LSU Football Coach Ed Orgeron announces freshman quarterback Peter Parrish has been indefinitely suspended from the team for a violation of team rules. Parrish is battling to be the Tigers number two quarterback in 2020, but now freshmen T-J Finley and Max Johnson have a leg up in that battle. Orgeron has also hired former defensive tackle Bennie Logan from Coushatta as a defensive analyst and former receiver Eddie Kennison is the new director of player development.
In college basketball, Southern advanced to the semi-finals of the SWAC Tournament with a 67-53 win over Alabama State. The Jaguars will face Texas Southern in the semis, who eliminated Grambling State 75-62.
The Southland Tournament gets underway today in Katy, Texas as Northwestern State hosts Corpus Christi. McNeese will face Lamar. The Cowboys just beat the Cardinals on Saturday to get int he tourney. Nicholls will play tomorrow night.
The Pelicans continue their four-game road trip tonight as they visit Sacramento. The two teams share identical records and are 3.5 games back of Memphis for the final playoff spot in the West. The tip-off is at 9:30.

Louisiana Tech trounced Southeastern Louisiana 14 to 3. Northwestern State upended Grambling four to one, Nicholls blanked Mississippi Valley 14 to 0 and 20th ranked Tulane outscored Lamar 14-12.
