Pelicans guard Shaddiq Bey scored 23 first-quarter points, one shy of a New Orleans franchise record but that fast start did not result in a win for New Orleans as they lost to the Knicks 130-125. Bey finished with 26 points.
LSU men’s basketball finished non-conference play with a 12-1 record as the Tigers defeated Southern Miss 90 to 62. LSU is at Texas A-and-M on Saturday.
Louisiana Tech plays Coastal Carolina this afternoon in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl. Senior defensive back Cedrick Woods wraps up his six-year college career today. It will be Woods’ 58th game with the Bulldogs, which is the most played by a single player in program history. Woods says he is blessed to have been able to play for so many years.
