It was a big night for LSU at the 2019 Home Depot College Football Awards Show as quarterback Joe Burrow, safety Grant Delpit and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase all took home hardware. Burrow won the Davey O’ Brien Award for best quarterback in the nation and the Walter Camp Award, which goes to the best player in the country. Chase was named the nation’s top wide receiver and Delpit won the Jim Thorpe award which goes to the country’s best defensive back.
Up next for Burrow, it’s a trip to New York where it’s expected he’ll be named the Heisman Trophy winner on Saturday night.
The Saints will host the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night. Defensive end Cam Jordan and safety Vonn Bell did not practice yesterday. Jordan has an injury to his abdomen, while Bell is battling an injured knee.
And former Saints linebacker and member of the famed Dome Patrol, Vaughn Johnson has died at the age of 57. He died at his home in North Carolina from a kidney disease.
