Two young children were killed in a fatal house fire in Jackson Parish. State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says they believe a child playing with a lighter while sitting on the couch caused the blaze…

Firefighters found a two-month-old girl and three-year-old boy dead in the master bedroom. Three other children and an adult escaped.

LSU has moved into the Top 5 in the two major college football polls. In the A-P poll the Tigers are ranked fourth, fifth in the coaches poll following their 45-38 win over Texas. LSU hosts Northwestern State this Saturday.
