Medicare recipients in Louisiana should receive a new Medicare card by the end of November. The new card has a unique Medicare number, instead of your social security number. Regional Administrator for C-M-S, Jeff Hinson says you still need to keep the new card from falling into the wrong hands…..

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s office says one person was killed in crash involving an Amtrak Train and an 18-wheeler at a railroad crossing on Highway 51 yesterday afternoon. Minor injuries were reported on the Amtrak train. The identity of the deceased was not released.

State Police have identified the man killed in Tuesday night’s shooting involving a Lafayette Police officer. 19-year-old Keion Bonner after encountering officers, who were responding to a report of criminal activity.
