Christmas in Louisiana will air for the first time on the Lifetime Channel on Saturday.
The number of opioid-related deaths continues to rise in Louisiana. That’s according to a report from the Advisory Council on Heroin and Prevention. But Council chair, Doctor James Hussey, says they have seen some bright spots in the fight against the opioid epidemic. There’s been a decline in the number of opioid prescriptions written and an increase in addicts who have enrolled in substance abuse treatment. But Hussey says the health care community can still do better when it comes to treatment.
