Governor Jeff Landry has been making the rounds pitching his tax reform plan that will be debated in a special session in November. Landry told WWL radio in New Orleans that his tax plan also calls for permanent teacher pay raises, instead of an annual stipend payment that needs approval from legislators every year…

Critics of Landry’s plan are concerned that it will lead to budget cuts in education and health care.

Louisiana could see what is known as the Northern Lights again tonight. A geomagnetic solar storm will result in purple and green streaks across the nighttime sky. This will be the second time this year Louisiana has been exposed to this phenomenon. Back in May, the sky was full of color because of a geomagnetic solar storm.
