In DC this morning the Senate Banking Committee will hear testimony on how increased flood insurance rates are crippling Louisiana property owners. Brooke Thorington has more.

Be prepared for another round of heavy rainfall today, especially for central and south Louisiana. A strong line of storms is moving across the state this morning. It’s already hit Lake Charles, Alexandria is getting it now and Lafayette could experience flooding rains between 8 and 9 AM this morning.
According to Lending-tree dot-com, Louisiana ranks second in the country for the percentage of households owned and occupied by single women. It’s at 15-percent. Charlotte Guidroz, a loan officer with Assurance Financial, says the reasons Louisiana ranks so high is not clear, but she sees a lot of motivated single mothers…
