As coronavirus cases spike in the state and we enter flu season, so far, the health department says we are not seeing as many cases of the flu. Region Three Medical Director Dr. Chip Riggins says even though influenza cases are not required to be reported to the state they are able to track trends of outbreaks.

State and local officials in southwest Louisiana have broken ground on a 152-million dollar project to widen Interstate 10 from the Texas State line to I-210. Governor John Bel Edwards says crews will expand 10.5 miles of I-10 from four to six lanes alleviating congestion in this area.
