33 dogs were rescued from the property of 50-year-old Thomas West in Ascension Parish after authorities discovered the canines in deplorable conditions. The dogs were taken to Cara’s House animal shelter for treatment.  Shelter president Reagan Daniel says the dogs are not yet available for fostering or adoption due to the legal investigation, but they still need help freeing up space at their facility.

Daniel says the dogs have puncture wounds, heartworms and other parasites, and were covered in fleas.

Zion Williamson is set to make his long-awaited NBA debut tomorrow night when the Pelicans host the San Antonio Spurs. Williamson was expected to return six to eight weeks after undergoing his surgery in October. But he has missed half of the season as the trainers used the time to get Zion’s entire body ready for the NBA grind.

Former New Orleans State Senator Wesley Bishop pleads guilty to making false statements to the Department of Housing and Urban Development about renting out his property when he received a post-Katrina Road Home grant in 2012. Bishop received 188,000 dollars from HUD for renting the property at low rates, but evidence arose that no one had lived at the property since at least 2013.
