A now-former Vermilion Parish deputy is out of a job and behind bars after an investigation by the special victims unit of state police.  State Police Sgt. Jared Sandifer says the investigation of 42-year-old Bryan Kibodeaux of Abbeville began in late January from a tip given to law enforcement.

Sandifer says Kibodeaux was arrested following the execution of a search warrant of his home.

President Donald Trump spoke to the nation last night for this year’s State of the Union address, touching on a series of issues including the border wall debate, the economy, healthcare, and foreign policy issues. Senator Bill Cassidy says the President is willing to work with Democratic opposition in the House to find a border security compromise, but it must include funding for additional physical wall.

Entergy is bringing advanced meters to the company’s customers.  The roll out for homes and businesses starts this month in New Orleans.  Entergy VP of grid modernization Lauren Kenney says among the biggest benefits for customers is to be able to track energy usage via online tools, as opposed to waiting for the bill to come in at the end of the month, which means a monetary savings for customers.
