Saints QB Drew Brees intends to practice with the team this week ahead of their Week 8 clash with the Cardinals this Sunday.  In an interview with WWL Radio, Brees says he’s impressed with the team’s latest performance in his absence.

The Saints are on a five-game win streak with Teddy Bridgewater starting in the absence of Brees.

Five predominantly African American churches in Crowley have been vandalized since July, with the most recent incident being discovered this morning. Crowley Police Chief Jimmy Broussard says they aren’t sure what exactly is motivating these crimes, but considering the targets have been majority black institutions and houses of worship…

Governor Edwards and Eddie Rispone will face off in what is likely to be the only gubernatorial debate of the run-off October 30th on Louisiana Public Broadcasting. LPB partnered with Council for a Better Louisiana to host the debate. The questions will be posed by a panel of journalists but CABL President Barry Erwin says they’ll give plenty of opportunities for the candidates to interrogate each other.

State and local officials broke ground today on the U-S Highway 165 South Lighting project. The 555-thousand dollar project calls for the installation of nearly 40 new street lighting poles on U-S Highway 165 South from Century Bouelvard to Winnsboro Road. Governor John Bel Edwards says the project should be completed in four months, adding local and state funds are paying for the new poles
