Two Yankee elephants from Buffalo, New York are on their way to the Audubon zoo in New Orleans. After a year’s long search for good roommates for the existing elephants at the zoo finally paid off.
Audubon General Curator Joel Hamilton says elephants have been a popular part of the zoo for over three decades, and is looking forward to adding to the herd that’s housed in a new facility built in 2016.

This year’s medicinal cannabis crop in Louisiana is being delayed until November. The holdups are starting to frustrate the pharmacies who’ve been authorized to supply the product in Louisiana. Greg Morrison, who owns the license for Northeast Louisiana, says the uncertainty surrounding the start dates are costing businesses money.
Morris says pharmacies just want clarity on when their patients will get access to the treatment.

A Lafayette man has been cited with criminal mischief after allegedly crying wolf about his sinking ship.
Benjamin Becnel could be facing a 500 dollar fine and some prison time calling in what authorities say was a false alarm Monday on the waters in Pointe Coupee Parish.
Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Spokesperson Adam Einck says Becnel never explained why he did it.
