Early voting for the October 14th primary election ends Saturday, October 7th, and it looks like turnout among Louisianans is down 9 percent compared to 2019. Pollster John Couvillon with JMC Analytics says the number of Louisianans who cast a ballot September 30th through Thursday is down by 22 thousand.

Typically, turnout for a gubernatorial election is around 45 to 50 percent.

This weekend’s cooler weather may tempt some to light a bonfire, but Lake Charles National Weather Service Meteorologist Marti Calhoun urges folks to respect their local burn ban.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for the southern portions of Louisiana that’s in effect for both Saturday and Sunday.

For almost four decades October has been recognized as breast cancer Awareness Month. Dr. Donna Williams, Director of Louisiana Cancer Prevention and Control says when healthcare outlets are able to make breast exams and mammograms more accessible, it saves lives.
