Landry is reporting six-point-six million dollars in cash on hand. The primary is October 14th. Early voting is September 30th.

A fatal disease known as lethal bronzing is killing off thousands of palm trees across south Louisiana. LSU Ag Center Plant Doctor, Raj Singh says the disease is wiping out 16 different types of palms across the state.

The palm tree killer has been detected in Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, and Iberia Parishes.

The state Office of Juvenile Justice says it has moved the youth juvenile offenders that were housed at a temporary facility at Angola to a new juvenile justice facility in Jackson Parish. The ACLU filed a civil rights lawsuit against the state in an effort to get the youths transferred from Angola.
