And lawmakers are advancing a bill to give a tax break to promote gun ownership and sale. Senate Bill 56 would reinstate what’s been known as the Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday. It reportedly costs the state $1.3 million in annual revenue. If the bill passes the three-day sales tax exemption would take place over Labor Day weekend.
