President Trump has posthumously pardoned LSU legend Billy Cannon for his involvement in a counterfeiting scheme that sent him to prison for two-and-half years. Afterwards, he returned to dentistry and in 1995 was hired as a dentist at the Louisiana State Penitentiary where he worked on inmates’ teeth and helped offenders reform. Pat Collins, who led Northeast Louisiana to the 1987 Division One-Double-A National championship has passed away at the age of 84. The Shreveport native was 57-35 in eight seasons at the helm at N-L-U. He also led the school to two Southland Conference titles and produced 17 All-Americans. Collins was inducted in the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.
