LSU football coach Brian Kelly confirmed the reports that star linebacker Harold Perkins is out for the year with a torn ACL. Perkins injured his knee while making a tackle in Saturday’s win over UCLA.

LSU’s defense has been a work in progress this year and LRN sports director Jeff  Palermo says the Tigers could not afford to lose one of its best athletes…

LSU lost veteran defensive tackle Jacobian Guillory to an Achilles tendon injury in the home opener to Nicholls.

The Saints lost starting center Erik McCoy to a groin injury early in its 15-12 loss to Philadelphia yesterday. New Orleans went on to accumulate only 219 yards of total offense. Coach Dennis Allen didn’t have any update on the severity of McCoy’s injury. New Orleans will visit Atlanta this Sunday. The Falcons lost to the Chiefs last night.

Louisiana Tech rallied back from a ten point, fourth quarter deficit, only to lose in overtime 23-20 to Tulsa. Bulldogs Coach Sonny Cumbie is disappointed they could not send Bulldog fans home with a win…

Tulane running back Makhi Hughes rushed for 166 yards and a touchdown as the Green Wave defeated the Cajuns 41-33 in Lafayette. Coach Michael Desormeaux’s (DEZ-er-mo) team gave up 272 rushing yards

ULM took on top ranked Texas and lost to the Longhorns 51-to-3. The Warhawks will open Sun Belt play this Saturday by visiting Troy.

Grambling improved to 3-and-1 with a 41-to-20 win over Jackson State as the Tigers defense forced five turnovers. Grambling is in Dallas this Saturday for their matchup against Prairie View.
