Maybe the president can help Orgeron find a new defensive coordinator. Dave Aranda has left to become the new head coach at Baylor. LSU reporter for the USA Today network, Glen Guilbeau, says Aranda did a lot of good for the Tigers.

Frank Wilson has been introduced as the new head football coach at McNeese. He was a recruiting coordinator under Les Miles at LSU and named as the nation’s top recruiter in 2011. Wilson left LSU to become the head coach at Texas-San Antonio, but he was fired after four seasons.

Two more LSU Tigers declared for the NFL draft today. Linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson and tight end Thaddeus Moss. That means nine LSU players are leaving early for the NFL draft. Meanwhile, Clemson running back and Jennings native Travis Etienne will return for his senior season.

The Pelicans are back at the Smoothie King Center on Saturday for a 2:30 tip-off versus the Los Angeles Clippers. New Orleans is coming off a big overtime win over Utah. The Pels have the fourth-best winning percentage in the NBA since December 23rd and Zion Williamson makes his season debut Wednesday.

LSU is at Ole Miss on Saturday night. Louisiana Tech hosts North Texas at 4 PM. Both teams are 4-and-1 in Conference USA play.
