LSU faces Wake Forest in a winner’s bracket match-up in the College World Series tonigh at 6 PM. The Tigers are expected to send Ty Floyd to the mound tonight. The Demon Deacons are known as Rake Forest and they have hit 130 home runs, fifth most in the country. Wake Forecast is also ranked fourth nationally in on base percentage. Junior third baseman Brock Wilken has hit 31 home runs, while sophomore Nick Kurtz has 24 home runs.
LSU’s bullpen has been really good lately, allowing just one earned run over the last three games. Senior lefty Riley Cooper who earned the save on Saturday has been a big part of that. Coach Jay Johnson says Cooper has been pitching well since the SEC Tournament…

LSU right-hander Paul Skenes struck out 12 more hitters on Saturday and now has 200 on the season. He’s two behind LSU legend Ben McDonald for the SEC record in strikeouts for a season. Skenes was asked about being on the verge of breaking that record which has stood since 1989…

The earliest Skenes will be able to pitch again is Thursday. The Tigers would probably like to hold him until Saturday, the start of the championship series.
