Multiple reports say Saints quarterback Drew Brees will miss at least the next six weeks as he needs surgery to repair his injured throwing hand. The league’s highest-paid backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater replaces Brees and NFL analyst Mike Detillier expects the Saints will also use Taysom Hill at Q-B too

There’s been no statement from the league today after taking away Cam Jordan’s fumble for a touchdown when the game was tied at three.
Injuries are mounting for LSU on defense. Coach Ed Orgeron said today that safety Todd Harris will miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in the lopsided win over Northwestern State. Coach “O” also said defensive ends Rashard Lawrence and Glen Logan will miss a second straight week and will not play Saturday at Vanderbilt. Kick-off is at 11.
LSU is not the only one playing its conference opener this week. Tulane will host Houston on Thursday in a game that will be televised by ESPN. Louisiana Tech kicks off Conference USA action by hosting F-I-U on the C-B-S Sports Network, in a game that will take place on Friday.
League play begins this week in the Southland Conference. Nicholls will visit Stephen F Austin. The Colonels are ranked 11th in the country after their come from behind win over Prairie View. Southeastern Louisiana is ranked 22nd after losing by just 11 points to Ole Miss. The Lions host Lamar at 7 PM.
