Junior centerfielder Dylan Crews was named the SEC Player of the Week today. In four games last week, Crews 6-for-14 at the plate with two home runs 8 R-B-I and a six-hundred on base percentage. Crews leads the nation with a .490 batting average.

While LSU is having fun playing baseball, it was another tough weekend for ULM as they were swept by Georgia Southern. In Saturday’s game, the Warhawks gave up 35 runs.

LSU named Jimmy Lindsey as its new defensive line coach. Lindsey was the D-Line coach at South Carolina the last two seasons. Coach Brian Kelly says Lindsey has a proven track record of developing defensive linemen.

Last week, women’s basketball coach Kim Mulkey made her thoughts known publicly that she would like LSU to build a new basketball arena or completely renovate the PMAC. Governor John Bel Edwards was asked about Mulkey’s comments today during an appearance at the Baton Rouge Press Club…

Former LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte says he is motivated more then ever after he waited until the sixth round to hear his name called in the NFL draft. The New England Patriots drafted the former five star recruit from New Iberia.
