The Saints will get back to work tomorrow as they prepare for Sunday’s home game against the Raiders. New Orleans is 2-and-5 on the season and the defense has really struggled. The Saints have allowed 29 points a game, which is the second highest in the NFL and they’ve only forced six turnovers. There’s also the issue of missed tackles. The Pelicans will be without three starters for tonight’s game against Dallas. Brandon Ingram is in concussion protocol, Zion Williamson has a bruised back and hip and Herb Jones has a hyperextended knee.

LSU Quarterback Jayden Daniels is the SEC Offensive Player of the Week . Daniels accounted for five touchdowns in the Tigers 45-20 victory over the previously undefeated Ole Miss Rebels. Linebacker Harold Perkins was named co-freshman of the week and Sophomore Mekhi Wingo was named defensive lineman of the week, as he had seven tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Cajuns Quarterback Ben Wooldridge was named the Sun Belt’s Offensive Player of the Week after throwing a school record-tying five touchdowns in a win over Arkansas State. U-L Lafayette’s other quarterback Chandler Fields is available for Thursday’s game at Southern Miss after missing the last two games due to injury, but Coach Michael Desormeaux says Wooldridge will start.

Louisiana Tech football coach Sonny Cumbie announced today that Quarterback Matt Downing will miss the rest of the season after taking a hit late in the overtime loss to Rice. Parker McNeil, who has started most of the games at Q-B is questionable for Friday night’s game against F-I-U. Also questionable for Friday are safeties BeeJay Williamson and Jaiden Cole. Tight end Griffin Hebert is closer to doubtful.
