Five states have now been exempted from the President’s order requiring states to begin footing 25 percent of the bill for their National Guard troops deployed on COVID missions. Governor Edwards sent a letter to Trump asking for Louisiana to be added to the list due to the fact that we have the most per capita cases in the nation. Edwards says that could cost Louisiana up to 10 million dollars by the end of the year.

Kids are heading back to school and anxiety levels are rising about what could happen if they get ordered back home to quarantine if an outbreak occurs in their class. Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at LSU Health New Orleans Dr. Rick Costa says if that happens the most important thing is creating a good environment back home.

LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward says operating at a restricted attendance capacity for LSU football games is going to cost the program tens of millions of dollars this year. Woodward says they’re moving to trying and limit the fiscal damage that will be done to student-athletes as a result of the likely implementation of capacity restrictions once games start September 26th.
