COVID-19 cases are increasing with 479 positive tests statewide and now 12 deaths. One of the new victims was a 38 year old from Catahoula Parish, who authorities say had an underlying medical condition.

The President authorizes the Defense Production Act to ramp up production of critical personal protective gear and respirators as the state works to secure those resources locally.
