A Livingston Parish School System employee, 34-year-old Cynthia Perikins, has been arrested on charges of first-degree rape and pornography involving juveniles, and her husband 44-year-old Dennis Perkins, A Livingston Parish SWAT Commander, has been arrested on three counts of pornography involving juveniles, two counts of video voyeurism, and obstructing justice. Details are limited at this point, but we do know that the investigation is being headed up by the Attorney General’s office.
The Poor People’s Campaign is touring through Louisiana this week, aiming to mobilize more activists to join their national push for elected leaders to address poverty and adopt their “Moral Agenda”. Louisiana Tri-Chair Omari Ho-Sang says Ho-Sang says the campaign is working to mobilize Louisianans around what they’ve defined as the four evils of systemic racism, poverty, ecological devastation, and the war economy.
The campaign has visited Shreveport, and St. James Parish, and is scheduled to visit Baton Rouge next week.
