More than 20,000 people are expected to pack into New Iberia this weekend as 76 teams compete to be the 30th annual Gumbo World Championship Cookoff winner. Gumbo servings on Sunday start at 11 AM, and Greater Iberia Chamber CEO Janet Faulk-Gonzales says you’ll have an opportunity to try every style imaginable cooked by teams coming in from across the country.
The festival starts on Saturday where 52 of the teams will cook “Anything but gumbo” dishes for the public.
