Former Governor Edwin Edwards will lie in state at the Capitol Saturday. Edwards biographer Leo Honeycutt says the ceremony is set to begin at 10 AM.

Hospitalizations for COVID-related symptoms are up 59 from yesterday as the Delta variant tears through the unvaccinated population. AARP State Director Denise Botcher says Botcher says if you have a family member residing at an assisted living facility, you should remain vigilant as the Delta variant becomes more prevalent.
