The Advocate reports that New Orleans State Senator Wesley Bishop is charged for allegedly making a false statement to a federal agency. The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Friday that Bishop is charged for making false statements HUD. The statements involve Bishop claiming “phantom” rental tenants to HUD.

New Orleans has a contract in hand from the Hard Rock hotel developers to begin removing the compromised structure that sits right on the iconic Canal Street. Structural Engineer Kerwin Julien says crews will have to carefully analyze the site, and figure out how to take it apart piece by piece without damaging nearby structures like the Saenger Theater.

Adam Budelli with Stubhub says Last year for the regular season for Stubhub the highest-selling NCAA tickets were for the Georgia-LSU and Alabama LSU games. So far the LSU demand is trending this year ticket wise as well.
