Former Governor Edwin Edwards is back home after he went to the hospital on Friday because he had difficulty breathing.  His Biographer Leo Honeycutt says doctors ended up diagnosing 93-year old Edwards with a head cold. While the Coronavirus pandemic is spreading rapidly, Honeycutt explained that Edwards’ hospital stay was not related to Covid.

Another COVID vaccine trial revealed an almost 95-percent effectiveness rate, but it could be some time before one or more vaccines are administered. In Louisiana, the number of COVID-19 patients in the hospital has surpassed 800. It’s at 818 the highest total since September 2nd. Today is the one-year anniversary of Gov John Bel Edwards re-election to a second term.  The year has posed numerous challenges for the governor but political analyst Bernie Pinsonat says Edwards’s military training and ability to learn from past governors’ mistakes allows him to present himself on camera well and reassure Louisianans during the pandemic and record-breaking hurricane season.
