Two teens were fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 49 near the Carencro exit in Lafayette Parish yesterday. Trooper Thomas Gossen says the accident happened around 3:30 AM and killed 16-year-old Jose Alvarez of Opelousas and his passenger 16-year-old Marlin Garcia of Church Point…

Gossen says the box truck struck Alvarez’s vehicle from behind causing it to overturn in the median.

The 2023 “I Voted” sticker was unveiled this morning, featuring a pelican and her three chicks. Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin says he along with New Orleans artist Becky Fos chose the title “Confidence” for this year’s sticker.

Shreveport’s Lee Hedges Stadium is likely to be closed for the rest of the year due to ongoing renovations. Tony Taglavore from the Shreveport Bossier Journal says renovations were expected to be completed before football season. Captain Shreve and Byrd High schools will have to play their games at Independence Stadium.

Hot tempers led to hot tempers and a big brawl among the LSU players at football practice today.
