A Raycom Media Poll on the US Senate race has Republican State Treasurer John Kennedy and Democratic Public Service Commissioner Foster Campbell leading the large field of candidates. The election is November 8th.
James Tullier, the father of Nick Tullier, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputy that was critically wounded on the July 17th ambush of police officers by a gunman, tells CNN that they believe Nick is listening to them as he lies comatosed in a Baton Rouge hospital. Nick Tullier was shot three times, once in the head. The family remains hopeful that Deputy Tullier can recover and await his transfer to a rehababilition facility in Houston.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is trying to determine how a dead whale washed a shore in Cameron Parish. It’s a very rare occurrance. Marine biologist Mandy Tomlin says they took several samples from the whale’s body in the hopes they can figure out why this animal died and they hope to learn more about the sperm whale itself…
