A new Gray Television network poll shows Governor Edwards at 48 percent and GOP challenger Eddie Rispone at 46 percent with 6 percent undecided. The poll shows a substantial racial gap, and a significant gender gap between the two candidates. The poll also gives Governor Edwards a 54 percent approval rating.

 

489,649 Louisianans early voted for the run-off, a record shattering number of early voters for a non-Presidential election. JMC Analytics pollster John Couvillon says to put the 31 percent overall black turnout and the 40 percent last day of early voting black turnout in perspective…

Couvillon estimates total turnout for the run-off to be in the low 50s.
